Mudflaps are also known as mudguards and some times even splash guards. The purpose of the mud flaps on a TVS King is to help protect your Tuk Tuk and other vehicles following you from debris such as mud, dirt, stones, water and other elements on the road that are flicked up by the tyre.

Mudflaps are also a legal requirement and for good reason. A stone flicked up from your tyre can hit pedestrians, cyclists and motorcycle riders at such a speed they could be fatal or cause major injury.

While some might think mudflaps are just there to look good they do far more than that by preventing damage that in the long term would cost you far more than the cost of a mudguard.

Tuk Tuk 3-Wheelers advise buyers not to reverse up high curbs as it can cause the mudguard to get trapped between the tyre and the curb and it will rip the mudflaps off your TVS King.

Replacing a TVS King Mudflap

Replacing the mudflaps is a very easy job which is just a case of undoing three nuts, removing the bolts, then bolt the new one back on. However, because the bolts get so much dirt from the road the nuts can often become seized, so they might need a good spray of penetrating oil to help release them.
